Merry Mice for CTS#201

Hello!  I finally got a chance to sit down and participate in a challenge today.  I've been having fun with my new granddaughter. The sketch I chose was the one over at CAS(E) This Sketch.  Here is a look at my card:

And here is the sketch from CTS:

Card Details:
  • I chose the Merry Mice Stamp Set.  This set has adorable little mice that just leap onto the paper!
  • I used Stampin'Write Markers to color most of the image.  I used colored pencil on the mouse himself so that he wouldn't be too dark.
  • I added 3 gold stars to add some bling to my simple image.

Clean and Simple Merry Medley for PP322

Hi!  Today I have a clean and simple card for this week's Paper Players Challenge.  Here is my card for the challenge:

And here is the banner for the challenge:

My card is basically a one layer card with a fancy embellishment.  My Emerald Envy card base is embossed with Emerald Envy ink to make the text more noticeable.  I used the Merry Medley Stamp
to stamp my background.

The embellishment consists of pine boughs cut from gold paper using the Pretty Pines Thinlets Dies, a bow cut from Emerald Envy Cardstock using the same thinlets, and an ornament which has been die cut and sewn using the Festive Stitching Thinlets Dies.  I used gold twine from the Baker's Twine Trio Pack and Real Red Twine from the Candy Cane Lane Baker's Twine Pack.

Christmas Trees for FMS263

Hello,  It's been almost a month since I've last blogged.  I've been recovering from a difficult surgery.  I felt pretty good today so I decided to play along with this week's FMS sketch.  Here's my card:

And here's the sketch that inspired me:

Here are the details:

  • The trees are cut from the Presents and Pine Cones DSP
  • It's hard to see, but I used the swirl from the Star of Light Stamp Set on the upper half of my card.
  • The sentiment is from the Stitched With Cheer stamp set.  I love the way it looks embossed with Emerald Envy Glitter Embossing Powder!
  • The Emerald Envy Ribbon is a preview from the new Occasion's Catalog!  You can order it beginning January 4th.

Monstrosity for PP316

Hi!  I'm off from school today, so I have time for a 2nd post.  I'm squeaking in just under the deadline to play with the Paper Players Challenge.  Here's my card:

I love this monster!  I don't think he is as scary as he thinks he is. This fellow fits right in with the Paper Players Color Challenge:

Details:

  • My background is strips of a DSP from the Halloween Night Specialty Designer Series Paper Pack.
  • My cute monster is not Stampin' Up!product.  He is from Whipper Snapper Designs, Inc.  I colored him in Wild Wasabi with Pumpkin Pie scales and tongue.
  • My sentiment is from Spooky Fun and is embossed in black.
  • My final touch was a piece of orange and black Baker's Twine.
I hope he didn't frighten you!

Star of Light shines for GDP057 and PCC214 Challenges

Hello!  The Global Design Project challenge and the Paper Craft Crew challenge both spoke to me today.  I decided to combine them to make my card.

Here's how I interpreted the challenges:

Here are the banners that inspired me:

  • The Blushing Bride "swirl" is from the Star of Light Stamp Set.
  • I stamped my sentiment from the Star of Light Stamp Set using Silver Encore Ink and then silver embossed it.
  • The Rish Razzleberry star is cut using  a Starlight Thinlet Die.
  • I used a bit of paper from the Pinecones and Presents DSP and trimmed it using my Fringe Scissors.
  • I added extra shine with Wink of Stella on the "swirl", rhinestones, silver thread, and a Silver Metallic Foil Doily.
I hope my card added a shine to your day!

Little Deer for GDP056

Hi there!  I need a baby card so I went looking for some ideas.  I found one over at the Global Design Challenge.  The challenge this week is to CASE the talented work of Bibi Cameron.  Bibi's card was a great jumping off place for me to begin my card.  Here it is:

And here is Bibi's card that I CASEd.

It might be a bit hard to see what things I took from the GDP card.  Let me show you a few.

  • I used the rectangular shape that the swing and its ropes made to form the background of my card.  The DSP I used is from the Blooms and Bliss Designer Series Paper.
  • Bibi's card has a cute kitty sitting on the swing.  My card has a little deer from the Made With Love Stamp Set on the onesie.
  • I copied the banner and bow that Bibi has on her card exactly on my card.
It was great fun CASEing Bibi's card and now I have the perfect baby card for my friend.

Joyful Nativity for GDP55

Happy World Cardmaking Day!  I hope you have all had time to create something fun!  My card is for the Global Design Project Challenge.  They have a theme challenge going on.

Here's my card for the challenge:

And here is the GDP055 challenge banner:

I don't know any other act of kindness greater than God's plan that began with the Nativity.  True, it wasn't random but it was huge!

Details:

  • The background is watercolor paper with a wash of Elegant Eggplant, Night of Navy and Dapper Denim.
  • The images from the Joyful Nativity Stamp set are stamped in VersaMark, then Encore Gold and then embossed in gold.
  • The sentiment from the stamp set is embossed in black and backed with Elegant Eggplant Cardstock.  That piece then adheres to the bottom of the card, which is Gold Foil Cardstock. The finishing touch is some gold baker's twine from the Baker's Twine Trio Pack.

  • The card base is Early Espresso
  • The white panel is a piece of Fancy Frost Specialty DSP

Scarecrow Greetings for FMS256

Hi there!  I'm working on using the rest of my Halloween Night Specialty DSP.  I only have a few sheets left.  One of them is the cute page with the pumpkins and polka dots.  This piece speaks Fall to me rather than Halloween, so that's the direction I went.

With some help from Freshly Made Sketches, I created my card:

Here's the banner for FMS256:

Details:

  • I used my DSP for the large banner in the card center.
  • I die cut my Swirly out of Pumpkin Pie using the Swirly Scribbles Thinlets Dies.
  • I backed my Swirly with some gold Baker's Twine from the Baker's Twine Trio Pack.  I unthreaded the ends before adhering it to my banner.
  • I stamped the scarecrow from the Halloween Cookie-Cutter Stamp Set in VersaMark and then Crushed Curry.  I embossed the little guy with clear embossing powder. I colored him with Stampin' Write Markers.
  • The sentiment is stamped and cut out using the Labeler Alphabet Stamp Set.

Happy Fall and Happy Stampin',

Vintage Leaves for FMS255

Hello!  I hope you had fun on the Inking Royalty Halloween Hop.  If you haven't hopped yet, it's not too late!

This is my second post of the day.  I'm so into the Vintage Leaves set that I just can't seem to leave it alone,  I'm using this set again to make a card for the FMS255 Challenge.
Here's my card:

Here's the Freshly Made Sketch Banner:

Here are the design details:
  • I stamped my chosen leaf (I think it's an Oak leaf) all over my card front in Cajun Craze.  I then embossed it in copper.  Using a Blender Pen, I lightly went over the embossing with Cajun Craze and Delightful Dijon inks.

  • I added a copper foil strip to match the sketch.
  • My sentiment is from Teeny Tiny Wishes.  I stamped it in Cajun Craze and punched it out with the Classic Label Punch.
  • A tiny bow finishes off my design.

Leaves similar to the ones on my card are starting to turn on the trees in my neighborhood.  How about your places?  Are they turning where you live?

Inking Royalty Blog Hop

Displaying Halloween Hop.png

Welcome to InKing Royalty's September Blog Hop!  We are excited to share some super-fun creations with you today!  This month's Blog Hop is filled with inspiring projects that feature each artist's take on the spookiest time of year - Halloween.  What fun!  After you read my post, I hope you'll hop over to the next person on the list at the base of this post.

My first project is a Triple Stamp Card using the stamp set Spooky Fun.  Take a look at all the spooktacular images on this fun card.

The card base and cardstock layers are Elegant Eggplant.  Purples are my favorite colors and I love using them at Halloween time.  The other colors I used are Basic Black, Tangerine Tango, and Old Olive.

For my next project, I pulled out my Mini Treat Bag Thinlets to make a fun little bag large enough to hold a Kit Kat Bar.

The Designer Series Paper I used for the bag is from the Halloween Night Specialty Designer Series Paper.  This spider web piece worked perfectly for the front of my bag!  The tag is die cut using the Tags and Labels Framelets.  The stamps are from the same Spooky Fun Stamp Set as my card above.  The ghosts are a little hard to see during the daytime but look great at night because I used glow-in-the-dark embossing powder!  Some sequins and Tangerine Tango ribbon finish off the tag.

Thank you for stopping by today.  I hope you'll hop along to the next stop on the blog hop Brian King at http://stampwithbrian.com/ There's lots of inspiration to be found in this group - and you don't want to miss it!

Cookie-Cutter Vampire for PPA318

Hello!  It's been a l-o-n-g time in between posts!  Sorry about that.  I have started back to school and it took awhile to settle back into my school year routine.  I sure miss those long days in my studio during the summer!

I have a cutie of a card for the PPA challenge this week.  Here's my card:

Here's the PPA banner that was my inspiration.
ppa-318-sep15

Beth Beard came up with this sketch.  I think it has lots of possibilities. You should give it a try!

Here are my card details:

  • The vampire is from the Cookie-Cutter Haloween Stamp Set.  I colored him using Elegant Eggplant and Cucumber Crush markers.  His cross was colored with a gold Wink of Stella Pen.
  • The vampire's little bat friend is stamped and fussy cut.  He's comfortable flying around with his bat cousins because I popped him up with a tiny piece of a Dimensional
  • The DSP pieces are from the Halloween Night Specialty Designer Series Paper Pack.
  • The sentiment is from the Spooky Fun Stamp Set.  I stamped it on Pumpkin Pie cardstock and punched it out using the Classic Label Punch.

Basket of Wishes for GDP052

Have you ever had a goose bumpy moment when you finish your card?  It may not be the best card you've ever made, but it turns out just like you envisioned?  I had one of those moments after I finished my card today.  My inspiration for my card was the Global Design Project Challenge for this week.  The challenge was to CASE Teneale Williams, a talented member of the GDP team.  Here's my card:

And here is Teneale's card that I CASEd.

Let's compare both cards.
  • Teneale's card is a baby card.  I don't need one at the moment so I chose to CASE her sketch instead.
  • The left side of Teneale's card is embossed.  Mine is too, but I embossed a piece of DSP from the Petals and Paisley's Specialty Designer Series Paper.
  • The stamp set I used for my card is the Basket of Wishes Stamp Set.
  • Like Teneale's sketch, I added a bow to my card.  I used some of the yummy Rich Razzleberry ribbon from the Ribbon Trio Pack.
  • A few rhinestones colored to match the Rich Razzleberry color were added for a final touch.

Have you ever had a cardmaking goose bumpy moment?  Tell me about it in the comments below.

Happy Birthday for PP311 and tgifc71

I wanted to play a challenge today so I went trolling for a couple.  Success!  I decided to play along with the Paper Players Theme Challenge and the TGIF color challenge.  I needed a birthday card so that's the direction I went.  Take a look at today's card:

Here are the challenges that inspired me:

Now for the details:

  • I decided a Bokeh card would be perfect for the circle challenge.  I love the way it turned out with the color combo from TGIF!
  • The cute little birthday cake is from the stamp set Endless Wishes.
  • For a little bling, I used some of the Sweet Sugarplum Ribbon from the Glitter Ribbon Combo Pack.  I unraveled the ribbon and tucked it behind the cute cake.
Can't wait to put this beauty in the mail!

A CASE of a CASE for TGIFC70

Hello!  Today I went over to the TGIF Challenge site and found a CASE the Designer Challenge.  I CASEd Holly's card.  Not until I was done, did I realize her card was a CASE of Cathy Caines.  So that makes my card a CASE of a CASE.  Confused?

Here's a look at my card:

Here's Holly's card:

And here's Cathie's card that started the chain reaction:

It's interesting to see how an idea begins and morphs through multiple interpretations, isn't it?

Here's how I CASEd Holly:

  • I implemented Holly's sketch exactly.
  • Instead of feathers, I used flamingos which have feathers.
  • My color scheme is Sweet Sugarplum and Flirty Flamingo along with a pop of black.  Holly uses purples and pinks in her feathers as well.
  • I stamped my flamingos using the Baby Wipe Technique so I could make them multi-colored like Holly's feathers.
I have to show you this picture before I close.  It's of a giant flamingo in front of a hotel in the town where my dad lives.  That thing's been there for as long as I can remember.

Flowers for PP310

Hi!  I'm playing along with the sketch over at the Paper Players today.  The sketch is perfect for showing off some of Stampin' Up's beautiful Designer Series Papers so that's exactly what I did.

Here's my card for today:

Isn't it sweet?  I needed a thank you card and this card is perfect.

Here's the PP310 banner that was my inspiration:

Here are the details:

  • I used Island Indigo as my card base to coordinate with the beautiful DSP from the Blooms and Bliss Paper Pack.
  • The flower pots are from the Gift From the Garden Stamp Set.  I colored the stamp with my Stampin' Write Markers.  The colors I used are Cajun Craze, Island Indigo, Mint Macaron and Emerald Envy.
  • The sentiment from the Watercolor Wings Stamp Set is embossed in white, cut into a banner, and popped up with Dimensionals.
  • I added 3 rhinestones for some sparkle.

This card is on its way to my friend, Gloria.  She brought me a HUGE piece of homemade cheesecake and I savored it down to the very last crumb!  Gloria also brought me a bag of jawbreakers for my candy drawer at school.  She knows this girl loves her sweets!  LOL

Spooky Fun for GDP050

I have a fun and super easy Halloween card for you that was inspired by the Global Design Project's sketch challenge for this week.  Let's get right to it and take a peek at my card:

Here is the GDP050 sketch that was my inspiration:
As you can see the sketch is very open ended.  I chose to keep it simple and let the paper and stamp set shine (or glow in the dark.)

Here are the details:
  • I let the Halloween Night Specialty DSP be the star on my card.  I love all of the spooky little details on this paper.
  • The stamp set I used for my card is Spooky Fun.  I stamped the greeting from the set in Pumpkin Pie.
  • The witch is also from Spooky Fun.  I stamped her in Archival Basic Black then colored her with my Stampin' Write Markers. I used the coordinating Halloween Scenes Edgelets Dies to cut her out.
Halloween will be here be we know it!  Glad I have my first Halloween card of many, finished.

Happy stampin',
Robin
